DEUXALITY, “MOVEMENT MUSIC” & GROOVE LOCH-NESS ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE:
THE WORLD’S FIRST MIXED REALITY VR DJ LIVE STREAM!
Inverness is set to host a WORLD FIRST as Groove Loch-Ness announce an exclusive pre-event party just under a week before taking their “Nightclub Under The Stars” back to one of Scotland’s most iconic locations, Loch-Ness.
Produced in partnership with Movement Music and DeuXality Games, Groove Festival will host the world’s first Mixed Reality DJ Live Stream featuring 8 DJ’s back 2 back for 3 hours in a full mixed reality DJ booth environment.
Festival founder Dougie Brown said “The visual elements of Groove have always been paramount and we were especially pleased with our custom built projection stage for our inaugural event last summer. We are constantly pushing the artistic boundaries for the event and to be able to produce an event utilising such cutting edge technology, working with local groups from the Highland’s just goes to show what a wealth of expertise we have up here.”
With the recent rise of virtual reality, companies have been looking for ways to show what it is like to be in a virtual environment. By filming with a green-screen and multiple virtual cameras this then shows the real person in a ‘mixed reality’.
Groove are borrowing the very same filming techniques but instead of a person wearing a head-mounted display, putting DJs into the 3D virtual setting. Often these type of videos are done with post processing but the event on next Sunday will be streaming the results of this completely live.
Ally Ridgers of the Movement Live Stream, who conceived the project said: “Since starting Movement at the beginning of 2016, one of our main aims was to start a Live Stream series focusing on showcasing Electronic/Dance acts from around the Highlands. We invited Darren to help with the tech side of things for the Live Streams and since discovered over the months his involvement in the gaming industry and especially the Virtual Reality side of things which got me thinking – we wanted to see what we could do with a green-screen and a few GoPro cameras and how we could combine the two and with his amazing talent along with Darroch McNaught of Deuxality Games ended up designing a mixed reality environment where real life DJs will DJ in a mixed reality world. You NEED to see it as you have not seen anything like it before.”
The invite only event will take place on Sunday 14th August from 1600-1900 GMT at a secret location in Inverness.
